Universal access to family planning – What does it take to leave no one behind?

The evidence is clear: Contraceptive use and family planning saves lives. Yet, many of the poorest and most marginalised women and girls are left behind during one of the most successful advances in public health in the past half century. With over 60 years of progress, around 214 million women and girls globally still have an unmet need for family planning, and estimates show that we need an additional USD 548 million to meet this need. Sustainable Development Goal 3 have set the target of reaching universal access to family planning by 2030. How can we get there? What roles can donors, governments and other actors play? What does it take for a future with universal access to family planning?
