Sex og Politikk, as part of International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), invites you to a seminar on Wednesday 22 May, at 16:30-18:00 at Sentralen in Øvre Slottsgate 3 in Oslo.

Watch the live stream from our seminar «Access to sexual and reproductive health services in crisis».

When a humanitarian crisis happens, local actors are already in place and could serve the people life saving services. But a crisis situation will require different demands and efforts from organisations, health personnel, service delivery points and funding than what they normally deal with. The Grand Bargain agreement commits donors and aid organisations to providing 25 percent of global humanitarian funding to local and national responders by 2020. How can local actors be prepared for when a humanitarian crisis hit? And how should the donor community be part of preparing and planning? How can access to sexual and reproductive services be provided by local actors in a humanitarian crisis?

IPPF is the largest global federation on access to sexual and reproductive life services. Two of the IPPF’s member associations from Syria and Colombia will be part of the seminar and share from their broad experience with giving sexual and reproductive services in crisis situations and the importance of preparedness. We are also inviting a representative from the Norwegian government.

This seminar is a lead-up to the two-day long UN conference on sexual and gender based violence in humanitarian crisis, Ending SGBV in Humanitarian Crisis, with experts and ministers from across the world in Oslo on the 23 and 24 May.
