Sex og Politikk’s Commitments at the Nairobi Summit on ICPD25

Sex og Politikk is taking part in the Nairobi Summit on ICPD25 12-14 November. At the summit we will present our commitments on sexual and reproductive health and rights.

Sexual and reproductive health and rights for all

Sex og Politikk, IPPF Norway, is committed to advance the ICPD agenda for the full realisation of sexual and reproductive health and rights for all, irrespective of their sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, their social, economic, political, ethnic or religious status, age, disability or HIV status. People affected by humanitarian crisis are in a vulnerable situation and must be ensured access to sexual and reproductive health services. With a mandate both in Norway and globally, we value the need for joint efforts in achieving the ICPD agenda, human rights for all and the sustainable development goals.

Sex og Politikk:

– Will ensure that all schools and kindergartens in Norway have access to age-responsive comprehensive sexuality education (CSE) materials.

– Will ensure that the number of schools in Norway using our CSE materials are increased from today’s 46% to 66% by 2025.

– Will support International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) sister organisations in at least 12 countries that are fighting discriminatory laws based on sexual orientation, with the aim of getting at least 6 of them to have success in changing these laws by 2025.

– Will be a bold advocate for access to the full range of sexual and reproductive health and rights within Norway’s national and international policies, including a particular focus on access to safe and legal abortion, modern contraceptives, comprehensive sexuality education and non-discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression.
